The updated patch (12/11) works great for me! Thanks a lot,
I can now deinstall all the other editors I tested in the
meantime;-)

Thanks

Nick

Thanks a lot for the patch allowing to choose binary mode.
Unfortunately, it doesn't really solve the problem...

It doesn't display the directory anymore, saving works, but
results as far as I could see in an empty file...

What do you think about just replacing the REST command in
ASCII mode with STOR? Will this cause some trouble elsewhere?

Of course my offer setting up a ftp account for you to
extensively test ProFTPd 1.2RC is still valid;-)

Thanks

Nick

thanks a lot for your offer! Maybe there would be even a
solution for ascii transfers, if one could avoid using REST,
as it is just this command which isnt't supported in
conjunction with ASCII anymore.

If you'd be interested to test and try out, I'd be happy to
set an ftp account up for you. Contact me at [dz (at) zd-web

Cheers and keep up your great work!

Message Hi,

My hoster is going to update their ProFTPD versions from
1.2.x to 1.3RC

Up to now, I didn't have any problems editing files via
tsWebEditor, but with ProFTPD 1.3RC I'm getting above
error message and the file won't be stored.

In the release notes of ProFTPD I find following:
>Bug 2471 - Restart command (REST) is not working
>correctly for text files.
>When in ASCII mode, ProFTPD now refuses to handle REST.
>This behavior
>is documented in doc/howto/ASCII.html

My hosting company says, they will update anyway as their
are other problems in 1.2.x they solve with 1.3 and that
in fact there have been problems with ASCII file storing
and REST. (Mixed up CR or CR/LF putting it as LF)

How can I (or you) change the behaviour of ftp storing to
making it work with the new ProFTPD version?

A solution would make me really happy:)

Thanks

Nick
